designing rewards cards

I was hired as an intern to help MAGO Grill & Cantina redesign cards for their rewards program and envelopes over the summer of 2025. 

I was given the old designs (bottom left) and lots of creative freedom. 

I began with researching other brand's rewards programs and MAGO's past program. 

The pattern seen across the final designs was inspired by the tile in the restaurant. 

MAGO's team wanted their color palette to feel more sophisticated and elevated while staying on brand. This is why I landed on the color palette on the far right. 

In a brainstorming session with a member of the marketing team, we decided on the new name for the rewards program. 

I created a mark to be used on the designs. 

The final card designs on the left incorporate graphics used throughout the MAGO website with an elevated and exciting feel. 

On the right is a graphic I designed to describe how the program works in simple terms to the customers. 

The final envelope design would contain one of the cards and explain the program. The envelope makes the card gift-able. 

MAGO asked me to create a flyer that can be placed on the tables at the restaurant to introduce the new rewards program. 

This new program and my designs have yet to be implemented at the restaurant but are still being pitched to branding team.
